The Golden Compass

Hey All!
So recently I began reading a book called The Golden Compass. The very amount of people who have reviewed this book is tremendous. I am about halfway through it and am finding it very entertaining.The way she views adults is very similar to to how I view a few adults I know.

So far there is this girl named Lyra who lives at Jordan College who lives in a universe where they have daemons, animals that are part of you that can change shape to different animals till you become an adult, when they settle as a form. Their are people who steal children known as "Gobblers" of whom nobody knows what does. I won't go any further as to prevent people from reading a spoiler. I HATE SPOILERS, PEOPLE WHO SHOW OTHERS SPOILERS ARE EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I start, may I ask what your favorite book cover is?

Recently I finished The Glass Castle!

"On Avery's 13th birthday everything began to change. She suddenly got kidnapped by an mysterious lady, just to be rounded up in a castle with other 13 year old boys in girls who do tasks in the castle for this mysterious lady. As she begins to know the other children, she realizes certain things about both herself and the mysterious castle."

A synopsis right there, pulled from my exact words in my review on Netgally. I must say myself that the book definitely made the top charts on my all time favorite books. Yes, the book did mention religion a few times, but not a pretentious amount, and not offensive in any way. Just enough to make the book just a little better. 

Let's mention before I forget, that the cover is GORGEOUS. When I decided to read it I may have somewhat chose it against the phrase "Don't judge a book by it's cover"
